P L E A T S

P L E A T S is gathering of garment in double or multiple fold. The fabric distributes evenly on the clothing.

Pleats was particularly huge on the catwalks in SS17 where big fashion brands such as Celine, Marni, Jil Sander, Gucci, to name a few, used this technique of gathering on their fashion shows. Pleats is quite forgiving in terms of that it never goes out of fashion. Its staple piece of clothing.

Even though there are different types pleats not all of them fits you. The reason for that is that they all have different purposes and shapes. The most common pleats are called Accordion pleats. They are narrow and straight therefore fits any body shape as it elongates the body. Many high street stores has got them at the moment such as Zara, H&M, Mango and Whistles to name a few. I personally love when they have graphic patterns as you can wear it all year long either with a pair of sneakers, sandals or boots.

Pleats on mens clothes is pretty straight forward but looks absolutely stunning as it's usually tailored with straight lines. It's very practical to wear to work or whenever you want to look smart. It's one of those items that a man need to own and have in wardrobe. The best shops to get these would be Zara, Massimo Dutti, and H&M. The prices are quite reasonable and won't hurt the wallet.

Pleats on wedding dresses are also gorgeous as they most likely comes in layers and looks something out of a fairy tale story. You can just scroll on pleated wedding dresses on Pinterest and see that it is Very Wang speciality.
